When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was on-e of the bibles of my generation.
\n\uc81c\uac00 \uc5b4\ub9b4 \ub54c, \uc81c \ub098\uc774 \ub610\ub798\ub77c\uba74 \ub2e4 \uc54c\ub9cc\ud55c ‘\uc9c0\uad6c \ubc31\uacfc’\ub780 \ucc45\uc774 \uc788\uc5c8\uc2b5\ub2c8\ub2e4.
\nIt was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch.
\n\uc5ec\uae30\uc11c \uadf8\ub9ac \uba40\uc9c0 \uc54a\uc740 \uba3c\ub85c \ud30c\ud06c\uc5d0 \uc0ac\ub294 \uc2a4\ud29c\uc5b4\ud2b8 \ube0c\ub79c\ub4dc\ub780 \uc0ac\ub78c\uc774 \uc4f4 \ucc45\uc778\ub370, \uc790\uc2e0\uc758 \ubaa8\ub4e0 \uac78 \ubd88\uc5b4\ub123\uc740 \ucc45\uc774\uc5c8\uc9c0\uc694.
\nThis was in the late 1960’s, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras.

\nIt was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along:

\nit was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.

\nStewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue.

\nIt was the mid-1970s, and I was your age.

\nOn the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road,

\nBeneath it were the words: “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.”
